Avery James Design Studio – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bespoke bridal and occasion wear services provided by Avery James Design Studio. By paying a deposit or proceeding with a booking, the client agrees to the terms set out below.

1. Bespoke Service

All garments created by Avery James Design Studio are bespoke, designed and made specifically for each individual client. Due to the personalised nature of this service, refunds are not available once work has commenced.

2. Consultation & Design Process

The bespoke process includes:

  • An initial consultation

  • Design and/or fabric consultation

  • A minimum of two fittings

Additional fittings may be required depending on the design and will be discussed with the client if necessary.

3. Fittings & Alterations

  • Minor design or fit adjustments may be requested during fittings.

  • Major design changes (including significant silhouette changes, fabric changes, or construction changes) are not included once the design has been agreed and work has begun.

  • Any additional work outside the original agreed design may incur extra charges and may affect the project timeline.

4. Timeline & Collection

  • Garments are usually ready for collection 2–4 weeks before the event date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Final collection will only take place once the full balance has been paid.

  • Avery James Design Studio is not responsible for delays caused by missed fittings, late approvals, or changes requested by the client.

5. Payments

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking and commence work.

  • The remaining 50% balance is due after the final fitting and before collection.

  • Payments must be made by the agreed methods and on time to avoid delays.

6. Cancellations

  • If the client cancels the project after work has begun, the deposit will be retained.

  • Any work completed beyond the value of the deposit may be invoiced accordingly.

  • Avery James Design Studio reserves the right to cancel a booking in exceptional circumstances, in which case any unused payments will be refunded.

7. Fit Approval

  • The client is responsible for confirming satisfaction with the fit at the final fitting.

  • Once the garment has been collected, Avery James Design Studio cannot be held responsible for changes in fit due to weight fluctuation or body changes.

8. Storage & Collection

  • Garments must be collected on the agreed date.

  • Avery James Design Studio cannot be responsible for garments left uncollected for extended periods.

9. Intellectual Property

All designs created by Avery James Design Studio remain the intellectual property of the studio. The studio reserves the right to photograph finished garments for portfolio, website, and social media use unless otherwise agreed.

10. Alteration Services

Avery James Design Studio offers alteration services for bridal and occasion wear, whether originally made by the studio or not.

  • Alterations are carried out based on the condition, construction, and suitability of the garment at the time of assessment.

  • An initial fitting is required before any alteration work can be confirmed.

  • Prices are discussed and agreed following the fitting and may vary depending on the complexity of the work.

  • Full payment for alteration services may be required in advance or at the final fitting, as agreed.

Please note:

  • The studio cannot be held responsible for issues arising from the original construction, fabric quality, or previous alterations of the garment.

  • While every effort is made to achieve the best possible fit and finish, alteration work is limited by the original design and structure of the garment.

  • Once alterations have begun, payments are non-refundable.

11. Bridal Wear – Specific Terms

Due to the nature and importance of bridal garments, the following additional terms apply:

  • Brides are encouraged to schedule fittings well in advance of their wedding date.

  • Final fit approval is the responsibility of the client at the final fitting.

  • Any weight changes, pregnancy, or body changes after the final fitting are outside the control of Avery James Design Studio and may require additional alterations, subject to availability and additional fees.

  • The studio is not responsible for delays caused by late bookings, missed fittings, or late decision-making by the client.

  • Wedding dates must be disclosed at the time of booking to ensure appropriate scheduling.

12. Rush Orders

Rush orders for bespoke garments may be accepted at the discretion of Avery James Design Studio.

  • A rush order is any garment required in a shorter timeframe than the studio’s standard production schedule.

  • Acceptance is subject to studio availability and workload.

  • A rush fee will apply and will be confirmed in writing before work begins.

  • Full or increased upfront payment may be required for rush orders.

  • While every effort will be made to meet deadlines, the studio cannot be held responsible for delays caused by external suppliers or late client decisions.

13. Fabric Sourcing

Where Avery James Design Studio sources fabric on behalf of the client:

  • Fabric availability, dye lots, and delivery times are outside the control of the studio.

  • Once fabric has been ordered or purchased, the cost of the fabric is non-refundable.

  • Any delays caused by fabric suppliers may affect production timelines.

  • Minor variations in colour, texture, or pattern between samples and final fabric may occur.

Clients may supply their own fabric; however, the studio cannot be held responsible for issues arising from unsuitable or faulty materials.

14. Bridal Party Orders

For bridal party garments (including bridesmaids, flower girls, or other members of the wedding party):

  • Each garment is treated as an individual bespoke piece.

  • Coordinated fittings and timelines must be agreed in advance.

  • Delays caused by unavailable bridal party members, missed fittings, or late measurements may impact completion dates.

  • The studio is not responsible for delays or fit issues resulting from changes in bridal party members.

  • Payment terms apply per garment unless otherwise agreed in writing.

This document is intended to be read, understood, and agreed to by clients booking services with Avery James Design Studio. By proceeding with a booking, the client confirms acceptance of all terms outlined above.
